Mamoru Miyano (Interview in Pick Up Voice 2013 October volume)
Translation of the 1st image in this post:
Talking about freshness, the bright and colorful hybrid of Japanese and Western style of “Identity” is really impressing.
Thank you. When I told my will of “build a Japanese world view” to Jin Nakamura-san, just at the right timing Jin-san was active in overseas, people of overseas countries give good comments towards things that are Japanese, or show the goodness of Japanese, so he felt the identity of being Japanese.
The thoughts of both of us met, so we thought of firmly including the Japanese identity, or better say, the identity of us, into the song.
On top of that, the song is a love song…
We would like to describe one whole identity through the intensity of the main character’s will, the importance of passing the feelings even the love cannot come true, and the beauty of holding the feelings continuously.
*I especially translated this part as this is what Mamo would like to express through Identity. The interview is all about his 4th album “PASSAGE” and the coming Budokan live concert on 4th October. I’m glad that I bought this MUST BUY magazine hahaha
